OCASG: Parents Ask-the-Expert with Dr. Gantman

The Orange County Asperger’s Support Group (OCASG) offers this unique series of Saturday sessions with Asperger’s expert, Dr. Alexander Gantman, for parents of teens and young adults.
These two-hour parent sessions focus on the increasingly difficult issues that arise as children with Asperger’s, High Functioning Autism or PDD-NOS reach adulthood, including college, employment and social relationships.

The workshops are held Saturday mornings on the campus of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach.
About Dr. Alex Gantman
Before moving full-time into private practice, Dr. Gantman was a licensed Clinical Psychologist at the UCLA Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences and a faculty member and Autism Instructor at the UCLA Tarjan Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities.
Dr. Gantman received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from PGSP-Stanford University Consortium. He received a highly prestigious Ruth L. Kirchstein Institutional (T32) National Research Service Award from the National Institute for Mental Health. At UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience, he was a Principal Investigator on the adaptation and development of the PEERS Program, an evidence-based, parent-assisted, social skills group intervention for adolescents, to address the unique needs of college age young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders. His research has been published in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, and his work has been presented at professional conferences including the International Meeting for Autism Research.
